Milton Only School Selected for Multi-Year Grant for Hebrew Education

January 3, 2019 by Ronit Greenstein (Faculty and Staff)

Kol Hakavod to the Milton Hebrew Language Department! Milton was awarded a four-year grant from Hebrew at the Center, and selected to serve as a Hebrew Teaching School. This designation will allow our faculty to model best practices in second language acquisition for teachers and curriculum developers at other schools and mentor them on Hebrew language education and the successful implementation of the Proficiency Approach. The grant will provide high-level professional development for all the Milton Hebrew teachers as we further develop our own program, recruit and train Hebrew teachers, and provide mentoring, coaching, and other training to our own faculty members as well as other schools.

Milton was the only school among the nine school that were invited to apply to be selected. Milton was selected for this prestigious grant based on the school’s commitment to professional excellence and development, the strength of the Hebrew program, and the overall commitment of the school to providing a first-rate Hebrew education.
