Approach

Early Elementary Academics

Milton sets students on a joyful journey of discovery.

Milton provides an enriching environment for children to grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Our student-centered, multi-disciplinary curriculum empowers students to make sense of their world. Experiential learning at Milton encourages a sense of ownership, allowing students to construct their own learning and make it come to life. Our teachers involve real-life experiences, encourage experimentation, and foster both independent and collaborative thinking, creativity, and critical analysis.

Hebrew and Judaic Studies are taught in an active and engaging environment. We surround young learners with Hebrew conversation, songs, poems, and literature from Israel. Students develop a connection to Israel and its people. Judaic Studies is also taught in Hebrew, giving students a strong foundation and appreciation of text, Shabbat, and Jewish holidays.

Eager to Learn

Our educational approach in Pre-K – Grade 1 focuses on the beliefs that students are:

  • Intellectually curious individuals
  • Researchers, explorers, and innovators
  • Spiritual beings
  • Eager learners
  • Capable of driving their learning

Multi-Disciplinary Projects

Students engage in multi-disciplinary projects utilizing skills such as research, writing, Design Thinking, math, science, art and design, along with Hebrew language skills and overlapping themes involving Judaic Studies and Jewish values.

Project work allows students to reinforce skills learned in class and to deepen their learning of content areas though in-depth study and inquiry. Learning is enduring when students use their hands and imaginations, and are encouraged to observe and question.
