Sixth Graders Re-imagine and Re-Tell The Odyssey
March 16, 2021 by
As part of their integrated study of Ancient Greece and The Wanderings of Odysseus, sixth graders flexed their academic and creative skills. After learning about Ancient Greek geography, culture, conflicts, and contributions, and as part of an in-depth study of a prose version of The Odyssey, students were challenged to produce original works that drew on their understanding of the epic’s characters, events, and themes. Our talented sixth graders produced poems, songs, travel brochures, guides, board games, and trading cards that integrate key characters and events, and offer the students’ social commentary. Check out the epic retelling and reimagining of this Greek classic!
