One of MILTON’s most beloved traditions! Students gather in mixed-grade groups to celebrate student and staff birthdays. Grades PK, 1, 3, and 5 celebrate together, as do grades K, 2, and 4. Parent volunteers help set-up and serve, then join the kids for lunch. Together we sing a rousing Yom Huledet Same’ach as students and staff celebrating their birthdays blow out candles on their birthday cupcakes. Middle school grades have their own Birthday Lunch celebration, without parent guests.

Boxed Lunch & Challah
Take lunch off of your ‘To Do’ list! The MPA runs MILTON’s Boxed Lunch program, so you can order delicious kosher food to be delivered to your child five days a week! You can also order challah to be sent home with your child each Friday. Ordering is done by semester. Ordering for Fall opens in August and ordering for Spring takes place in December. Box Tops for Education
Earn money for the MPA while shopping for everyday items through the Box Tops for Education program. A new app for iPhone and Android to make collecting Box Tops even easier. For an overview of how the program works, please watch this very short video. Then download the Box Tops app and start scanning. Your kids will love to help, and anyone can scan, so don’t forget to tell grandparents, aunt and uncles, friends so that we can get the most out of the program.
Purchase honey for Rosh Hashana, olive oil for Hanukkah, chocolates for Pesach, Mabels Labels for camp and more! They make great gifts and help support the MPA. If you have ideas for sales or vendors, please let us know!

Kitah Connectors (Room Parents) help build community in their class/grade, serve as a resource and guide for families and a link between teachers, parents and the school. They help organize social events, share information and advice, and encourage participation in school events and staff appreciation activities. They have a finger on the pulse of the class, coordinating class responses to life cycle events or other moments of need. Please contact us to get involved or find out more.
The MPA works closely with the school librarian and teachers to identify and purchase books for the school’s libraries, which are funded entirely by the MPA. Birthday Books are given to children in honor of their special day. They get to enjoy the book at home, then return it to school to be donated to the school library in their honor. This program is a lovely way to recognize each child while enhancing the Milton libraries.

Pajama & Movie Night
Another community favorite! The MPA warms up the winter by hosting this cozy gathering. Kids get to watch a movie in their PJs and munch on treats while parents schmooze nearby.

Held twice a year, this very special program provides Milton families with the opportunity to meet each other and share something we all have in common: Shabbat! Sign up to host or be hosted and get matched with another family. This is a wonderful way to connect with other members of the Milton community that you might not otherwise meet or want to get to know better. For the 2019-2020 school year, Sharing Shabbat will take place on November 22-23, 2019 and May 8-9, 2020.
Chairs: Mira Resnick and Heather Diamond
The MPA works hard to recognize our school’s most treasured resource – our teachers and staff members. We provide a welcome gifts, Hanukkah, and end-of-year gift cards, and treats or lunches for special occasions throughout the year, all funded with MPA dues. We work as a team to show collective appreciation from all of our parents, but nothing replaces the personal thanks that parents and kids can offer. Notes of thanks to teachers and staff are meaningful at any time of year, but we especially encourage notes of thanks during national Teacher Appreciation Week in May. Check HaShavua for more information!
