The Birthday Books program ties celebrations to giving, recognizes each child on his or her special day, and enhances our school libraries, all at the same time. Parents help with this program by preparing an annual student roster with birthday information, printing bookplates in honor of each child, and sending monthly notifications to families whose children are scheduled to receive their Birthday Book. Volunteers may also assist in processing new books with protective covers and return stamps.

Students enjoy pizza, salad, corn, a brownie and a drink – and each child with a birthday that month receives a cupcake and rousing Yom Huledet Same’ach (Happy Birthday). Volunteers are needed to help set up and serve the food, and parents of children celebrating birthdays, as well as volunteers, are welcome to join us for lunch!
Chairs: Nina Schwartz and Allison Turner
The Milton Parents Association offers lunch five days a week! Volunteers order food and manage food distribution. The bulk of volunteer time is only a few weeks following each registration period.

End of Year Celebration
MPA hosts a special end of the year activity to thank everyone in the school community for their hard work and to come together for the last event of the school year.
The MPA sells special treats to enrich the holidays, including Rosh Hashanah, Hanukkah, Passover, and Shavuot.
Milton T-shirts for field trips and Fridays are for sale throughout the year. Volunteers help organize merchandise, keep track of inventory, and staff sales tables at various events.

Sharing Shabbat allows families to either host another family for a Shabbat meal or find a family willing to host them for a Shabbat meal. Sharing Shabbat is open to Milton families AND staff members to be hosts or guests!
Tea & Tissues
In order to ease the adjustment period for new parents, we offer a place for them to relax with veteran Milton parents on the first day of school. Parent volunteers and staff members are available to check in on the children and update their parents on their adjustment to the classroom.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation
To acknowledge Milton’s most treasured resources – our teachers and staff – the Milton Parents Association purchases welcome gifts, Hanukkah and end of year gift cards, and treats or lunches for special occasions.
