MLK Day Service Opportunities

Date: January 21, 2019

Engage in tikkun olam and join Milton families participating in the MLK Day of Service. Check out these service opportunities happening at the South Campus and around the community on MLK Day and throughout the month of January. We invite you to connect, contribute, and find ways to help that are meaningful to you and your family.

  • Help out at the South Campus between 9:00am and noon to clean up the playground and (for older students) paint the student stage. Register online before January 17. Limited to 15 volunteers. Parents and alumni welcome!
  • Join one of several park cleanup projects run by the Rock Creek Conservancy.
  • Little Falls Watershed Alliance is committed to improving the local environment through invasive weed control, storm drain cleanup, and trash abatement. Join a “Free the Trees” event or help in a way that works for you.
  • Check out the Federation’s J-Connect pages for service opportunities on MLK Day and throughout the month.
  • Older students and alumni are encouraged to join Behrend Builders and the Edlavitch DCJCC to paint and decorate the walls of a Northeast DC public elementary school.
  • Join the Montgomery County MLK Volunteer Fair at the Bethesda Marriott.
  • Join Volunteer Fairfax for Give Together Family Volunteer Day.

We hope you can join us for these tikkun olam opportunities on MLK Day and throughout the month!
