Celebrating Graduating Families
July 5, 2022
We were pleased to recognize graduating families at the Annual Meeting and welcome them to the ranks of Milton alumni. Special distinction went to the Feldman-Kotelanski, Blumenthal, and Sharon families for outstanding leadership, engagement, and investment in the school over many years. The three families were given a Havdalah spice jar to remind them of the sweetness of Milton and that, as we move from one significant space and time to another, we carry what is most precious and know we can always come back. Some highlights:
Marina Feldman and Jorge Kotelanski have been active members of the JPDS/Milton community since 2007. Their oldest daughter Maia graduated in 2014, son Danny in 2016, and Ella – their first child in the Moses Family Middle School – graduates this year. Marina was a Board Trustee from 2015 to 2021, serving in multiple capacities, including as Executive Committee Secretary and Co-Chair of the Middle School Steering Committee. Thank you Marina and Jorge for your many contributions to our school community!
Jennifer and Dan Blumenthal are the parents of Jonah (class of 2015 – when then-JPDS went only to 6th grade), Ari (class of 2020), and Maya (class of 2022). Dan coached girls’ basketball and was a classroom guest speaker. Jen is a long-time volunteer, and was co-creator and co-chair of People of the Book. During Covid, she helped transition this annual event to a monthly online lunch-and-learn that drew alumni and grandparents from across the country. Thank you Jen and Dan!
Abigail and Adam Sharon have been at Milton since 2013 and are the parents of Eden (class of 2022) and Adele (class of 2023). A documentary filmmaker by profession, Abigail created the school’s current Admission video and worked intensively with the inaugural Scholar’s Forum to guide students through the entire film-making process and ultimately create a documentary film telling our school’s story since its founding. Adam has been a classroom guest speaker and also helped arrange a student field trip to the White House. Thank you Abigail and Adam!
