Strategic Plan Priority 5

Deepen financial resources to ensure support for emerging strategic priorities

In order to meet our current and future strategic priorities, we must have a solid financial footing. While the last five years have given us a good starting point, we must continue to strengthen our school’s economic resilience, long-term sustainability, and affordability through careful stewardship of Milton’s resources and continued cultivation of a culture of philanthropy.

To that end, our initiatives over the next five years include the following:

Initiatives

  • Continually update and assess Milton’s comprehensive, data-driven financial plan and investment approach and ensure alignment with the five-year strategic goals while also working to eliminate Milton’s debt
  • Develop a comprehensive capital improvement plan that addresses the specific needs of Milton’s two campuses and anticipates future community needs
  • Assess tuition assistance policies and approaches
to ensure broad access to a Milton education
  • Expand and formalize institutional advancement activities to ensure effective implementation of Milton’s development plans and engagement with internal and external communities

Spotlight Initiative

Expand and formalize institutional advancement activities to ensure effective implementation of Milton’s development plans and engagement with internal and external communities.

In order to achieve our strategic priorities, it is essential that our advancement activities increase. To do so, we will increase access to and analysis of development data to make more strategic and data-driven decisions. We will seek increased support from Milton’s existing donors and identify new revenue streams through the partnership development that will come out of Priority 4. We will consider the development of a planned giving program to engage grandparents and alumni parents in philanthropic opportunities. In particular, we will explore the development of an alumni relations program to engage alumni and alumni families on an ongoing basis and consider the creation of an alumni working group to offer insight as the alumni relations program is developed.
