Whether on the stage or in a studio, the arts offer opportunities to reflect and explore, to deepen and share ideas, and to connect with others.
MILTON’s program provides students with opportunities to spark their imagination, express their unique vision, cultivate their talent, and collaborate creatively in the fields of drama, music, and visual arts.
Students participate in a variety of visual and performing arts, through dedicated classes, chugim (elective classes), after school activities, and a curriculum that seizes opportunities to integrate art instruction and application.
Offerings include:
- The Sadnah (workshop) studio on South Campus, where all Early Elementary students develop their skills as creators, often in collaboration with learning goals in other classes.
- Art classes for all Elementary and Grade 6 students.
- Middle school fall play and spring musical, with acting and stage crew opportunities for students.
- Israeli dance classes for all students in grades PK-2; electives for grades 3-8. All dancers participate in a spring performance, while grades 4-8 also perform in the DC Israeli Dance Festival.
- After school programs for Elementary and Early Elementary such as art, dance, sewing, and newspaper/literary magazine.
- Electives for Middle School such as band/choir, creative writing, and landscape painting.
- A collaborative art installation project that graduating students create over several months and is displayed permanently at school.
